As per reports, on Sunday (29 September), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that it conducted strikes on several areas in southern Lebanon. Four people were killed, and an unknown number of others were wounded in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the town of Tayr Debba in southern Lebanon and six people were reported dead in the Bekaa region as well.
A barrage of eight rockets was launched from Lebanon at the Tiberias area on Sunday (29 September) morning, setting off sirens in the city and several other towns near the Sea of Galilee. The rockets struck open areas, causing no injuries.
• Reports indicate that hundreds of families have resorted to sleeping on beaches and in public squares in Beirut after seeking shelter following the Israeli military’s airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs. Overall hundreds of thousands are estimated to have been displaced by recent fighting.
• As of Sunday (29 September) morning, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been taken to a secure location inside Iran amid heightened security, a day after Israel killed the head of Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah in a strike on Beirut.
• The IDF stated that a Navy Sa’ar 4.5-class missile boat intercepted a drone over the Red Sea overnight on Saturday (28 September). Reports indicate that the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was shot down before it reached Israel’s border. The drone triggered sirens in the resort city of Eilat and surrounding areas. The Iran-backed Islamic Resistance in Iraq took responsibility for launching a drone at Eilat on Sunday (29 September) morning.
• Reports suggest that the IDF may have begun, or is about to begin, small operations across the Lebanon border to take out nearby Hezbollah positions.
• Bluebird Airways, a Greek airline owned by Israelis, announced that it is canceling its flights on Sunday (29 September) on routes to Israel, in accordance with the European Aviation Authority’s announcement Saturday that it recommended stopping flights to Israel. The company operates routes to various destinations in Greece, Bucharest, Budapest and Rome.
• Reports indicate that Israel intercepted a Houthi ballistic missile targeting PM Netanyahu at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv on Saturday (28 September).
• Three explosions have been heard in the Al Bukamal area on the Iraq-Syria border as well as at a US forces base in Syria stationed in a Conoco gas plant and field in Deir Ezzor.
