As per reports, temporary vehicular traffic restrictions will be in place on several roads in the Historic Centre of Arequipa, Peru, on Thursday (08 October) from 0600 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) until 1200 hours local time (1700 hours UTC).
• The restrictions have been announced in connection with two concurrent official commemorations: the 205th anniversary of the Marina de Guerra del Perú (Peruvian Navy) and the 147th anniversary of the Combate Naval de Angamos (Naval Battle of Angamos), both observed on 08 October each year as part of Peru’s national calendar of armed forces commemorations.
• Traffic restrictions apply to three road sections in the Arequipa Historic Centre: Avenida Puente Grau, on the stretch running in the direction of Óvalo Grau; Avenida Bolognesi, from the vicinity of Hotel La Maison D’Elise to approximately one city block before Óvalo Grau; and Avenida El Ejército, on the block at the level of Clínica Arequipa.
