As per reports, a magnitude 5.2 earthquake was reported in the South Pacific Ocean near the coast of the Arequipa Region on Sunday (11 October) at 0843 hours local time (1343 hours UTC). The earthquake occurred at a depth of 54 kilometres.
Reports indicate that the earthquake was felt by people in areas near the epicentre, with its relatively shallow depth contributing to stronger ground shaking in the surrounding area.
