As per reports, Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) extended for 180 calendar days, starting Wednesday (30 September), the declaration of emergency of the land transport service in the sectors of the coastal roads located in the province of Trujillo, department of La Libertad.
• The extension is based on the fact that coastal erosion and the recurrence of abnormal swells continue to affect the physical and morphological conditions of the intervention areas in the aforementioned seaside resorts.
• The affected areas encompass 14 populated centers with an approximate population of 136,951 inhabitants, for whom the disruption of these roads would represent a severe restriction on the continuity and safety of passenger and freight transport.
• Within ten calendar days after the completion of the new term, the General Directorate of Transport Programs and Projects shall inform the Vice-Ministerial Office of Transport of the actions and interventions carried out.
