The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued orange and yellow strong wind advisories across much of Taiwan, effective from Monday evening (20 October) through Tuesday night (21 October).
• Orange-level warning areas, including Taoyuan, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Taitung, Penghu, Kinmen, and Lienchiang, are forecast to experience gale to storm-force winds, with sustained speeds exceeding 20 m/s and gusts above 28 m/s. These conditions may cause damage to trees, outdoor structures, and roadside installations, and could disrupt transport and power supply in coastal and elevated regions.
• Yellow-level advisory areas, including Taipei, Keelung, New Taipei, Hsinchu, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Hualien, and Yilan, will see strong to gale winds, with gusts up to 17–20 m/s, possibly leading to minor debris hazards and traffic delays.
