Orange alert issued across Peru from Tuesday (08 September) through Thursday (10 September)

As per reports, on Tuesday (08 September), the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (SENAMHI) has issued an orange alert for light to moderate rainfall affecting high-altitude areas of Arequipa through Thursday (10 September).

• The affected areas include La Unión, Castilla, Condesuyos and Caylloma provinces, areas above 2,800 meters may experience hail, while snowfall is expected above 3,800 meters, particularly across central and southern mountain sectors.
• The adverse weather may include rainfall, hail, sleet and snowfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds reaching approximately 40 kilometer per hour.
• Meanwhile, daytime temperatures are expected to increase along the Arequipa coast and in parts of the valleys from Monday (07 September) to Wednesday (09 September), with maximum temperatures potentially reaching 32 degrees Celsius in Camaná, Caravelí and parts of Islay and Castilla.
