As per reports, the Nigerian Army has intensified security operations across Mangu Local Government Area (LGA), Plateau State, following a recent attack that killed at least 24 people, as of Wednesday (19 August).
• The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Maxwell Dangana, has temporarily relocated his operational base from Jos to Mangu and launched “Operation Hard Nut” to intensify security operations and secure vulnerable communities.
• Authorities have indicated that an intensified military presence and security operations will continue in the affected areas. Further details regarding the duration and geographical extent of the operations are expected to be shared soon by the concerned authorities.
