As per reports, a peaceful protest is expected at the gate of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday (27 September) if 78 schoolchildren abducted from Mussa and Lassa in Borno State are not rescued within the six-day deadline issued by their parents and community representatives.
• Reports indicate that the planned protest is linked to the continued captivity of 78 schoolchildren from Mussa and Lassa in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
• The group has called on the Federal Government to secure their release and has threatened to take the protest to the Presidential Villa if the deadline is not met.
• Reports indicate that the parents and community representatives previously staged a protest in Maiduguri on Sunday (20 September) over the prolonged captivity of the children.
• Authorities have not specified any start time of the protest.
