As per reports, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake has been recorded about 99 km northwest of Chiclayo, Peru at 1039 hours (local time) on Monday (25 March).

• The earthquake has been recorded at a shallow depth of five km. A second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) listed the earthquake at magnitude 4.8.
• The earthquake occurred at a distance of 91 km from Lambayeque, 92 km from Pimentel, 99 km from Chiclayo, and 106 km from Picsi.
