As per reports, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded approximately 84 kilometres west of Minas de Marcona and approximately 127 kilometres south of Ica, near the coast of central Peru, on Friday (08 May).
The earthquake was recorded at 1042 hours local time (1542 hours UTC) at a depth of 36 kilometres, classifying it as a shallow-focus event, and the epicentre was located at 15.200 degrees South, 75.890 degrees West.
