As per reports, Ireland is expected to officially recognise the state of Palestine on Wednesday (22 May) morning.

• The Government reportedly flagged its intention to recognise Palestine as a state in the month of May 2024.
• Israel responded to the anticipated announcement about recognition of Palestinian statehood, stating that it would ‘lead to more terrorism, instability in the region and jeopardize any prospects for peace.’
