As per reports, Uisce Éireann’s nationwide Water Conservation Order, which was introduced in the month of July amid low water availability, is currently scheduled to expire on Wednesday (26 August).
• The order may be lifted in Donegal and parts of the Northwest next week, as water supplies in the region have reportedly begun to recover.
• Dublin and parts of eastern and southern Ireland remain more affected, with recent rainfall levels insufficient to fully replenish water sources.
• Water levels in several rivers supplying local and regional water-treatment plants remain low, despite the easing of recent heatwave conditions.
• Uisce Éireann has indicated that restrictions could be extended in areas where water resources remain under pressure, particularly in the east and south. The situation could therefore remain regionally differentiated, with restrictions potentially ending in better-supplied areas while continuing elsewhere.
