As per reports, heavy rainfall associated with a trough system affected Salvador, Bahia, during the weekend and into Monday (01 June), resulting in flooding, landslide-related incidents, and disruptions across parts of the city. According to Salvador’s Civil Defense (Codesal), approximately 160 millimeters of rainfall were recorded during the previous 72 hours, while wind gusts reached up to 45 kilometers per hour.

• Although the trough responsible for the instability began weakening on the afternoon of Monday (01 June), authorities reported that weather-related impacts continued during the morning. By Monday (01 June), Civil Defense had registered 68 incidents linked to the adverse weather conditions, including inspections of flooded properties, landslide occurrences, and damage to road infrastructure.
• The Civil Defense Monitoring and Alert Center of Salvador (Cemadec) indicated that rainfall intensity is expected to decrease between Monday (01 June) and Tuesday (02 June). However, meteorological authorities forecast the arrival of a new cold front from Wednesday (03 June), which is expected to reintroduce unstable weather conditions, including periods of heavy rainfall and stronger wind gusts.
