As per reports, the Municipal Traffic Engineering Company (CET) has announced multiple road closures and traffic restrictions across São Paulo on Sunday (18 October) to facilitate seven sporting and public events, including road races and a cancer awareness walk.
• The earliest restrictions are scheduled to commence at 0130 hours local time (0430 hours UTC) in the vicinity of Marginal Pinheiros for the Athenas Run Longer event, followed by additional restrictions from 0300 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) around Ibirapuera for the UOL Run 30 Anos.
• Further traffic restrictions are scheduled to commence between 0430 hours local time (0730 hours UTC) and 0700 hours local time (1000 hours UTC) across Vila Guilherme, Ipiranga, Parque Villa-Lobos, Barra Funda, Pacaembu and Ponte Rasa to accommodate other sporting events and a cancer awareness walk.
• Authorities are expected to implement temporary road closures, traffic diversions and access restrictions along the designated event routes. The simultaneous events may also necessitate adjustments to bus services and traffic management arrangements on adjoining roads.
