As per reports, the discussions held by the Group of Ministers (GoM) with sanitation workers’ unions on Tuesday (02 January), concluded without consensus on several demands. Consequently, the leaders of the sanitation workers’ unions asserted that the ongoing agitation would continue across the State. Despite the government expressing intentions to fulfill some demands promptly and citing positive discussions, union leaders expressed dissatisfaction with the results. A. Suresh, an official from Municipal Administration and Urban Development, stated that the GoM would reconvene after discussing issues such as ‘equal pay for equal work’ with Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
