As per reports, on Wednesday (03 January), an inter-state cyber fraud gang that duped dozens of people were arrested in Vadodara. The gang of five men with over 43 offences registered against them across the country used to defraud people by promising them good revenue through online tasks.

• From Chandigarh, Delhi, Kolkata, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh to Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra, the gang had targeted citizens across the country.
• They used to convince the victim to subscribe for some YouTube channel and promise INR 1,500 to INR 3,000 per day to complete certain tasks.
• The gang used to send screenshots of the money earned by the other subscribers and then convince the victims to invest in cryptocurrency.
• The accused also demanded money from the victims under some pretext and showed some fake balance amount in the crypto wallet.
