As per reports, a scheduled test of the ‘ES-Alert’ public warning system is expected to take place in Álava Province on Thursday (13 November) at approximately 1200 hours local time (1100 hours UTC).
• The drill is organized by the Basque Country Emergency Coordination Center (SOS Deiak) under the Basque Government to simulate the alerting process used during major emergencies or disasters.
• During the test, mobile phones connected to antennas within Álava will receive an alert message accompanied by a distinctive beep, notifying residents that the transmission is only a test and not a real emergency.
