As per forecast issued by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), Aragon, Catalonia and the interior of Castellón could be affected by rainfall that could reach 50 liters per square meter due to a cold front expected to reach the Iberian Peninsula on Thursday (22 August), Friday (23 August) and over the weekend (24-25 August).
• Warnings for high temperatures has also been issued on Thursday (22 August) for several regions. Areas such as the Pyrenees of Huesca, Lleida, the south of Huesca, the Ribera del Ebro in La Rioja, Zaragoza, the south of Madrid and the southern coast of Valencia are expected to be impacted. Temperatures are expected to exceed 36 degrees Celsius in few areas.
• On Thursday (22 August), especially in the Aragonese Pyrenees, the east and south of the peninsula, the east of Castilla-La Mancha, the interior of the Valencian Community and the north of Murcia. In some areas, these storms could include hail, especially in mountainous areas and their surroundings.
