As per the weather forecast by China Meteorological Administration, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of parts of Guizhou, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Yunnan, Hunan, Hubei on Monday (14 October). Additionally, heavy smog is causing travel and traffic disruptions in the central and southern parts of North China, the central and western parts of Huanghuai, and the Fenwei Plain including Beijing. Following are the latest updates:
• Until 0800 hours (local time) on Tuesday (15 October), parts of northeastern Yunnan, southern Guizhou, northern Guangxi, central and northern Hunan, and central and northern Jiangsu experienced moderate to heavy rain, with local torrential rain in Qujing, Yunnan, Baise and Hechi, Guangxi, Changde, Hunan, Lianyungang and Yancheng, Jiangsu, and local torrential rain in Baise and Hechi, Guangxi.
• As per CMA forecast, heavy rains are expected to persist in eastern Yunnan, central and southern Guizhou, northern Guangxi, central and western Hunan, and central and northern Jiangxi and all parts of Zhejiang at least until Thursday (17 October).
• Moreover, the Central Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow fog warning at 0600 hours on Monday (14 October). Heavy fog is expected to occur in parts of central and southern Hebei, Beijing, western Tianjin, central Shanxi, northern Shaanxi, northeastern and southern Henan, western Shandong, and central Hubei, with local visibility of less than 200 meters.
• Due to heavy fog conditions in Beijing, following traffic disruptions are ongoing as of Monday (14 October), as per the Municipal Transportation Commission TOCC and China Railway Beijing-Xiongan Beijing Expressway Development Co., Ltd.:
• • Due to the heavy fog in Hebei section, the section from Gongyizhuang to the city boundary of Beijing-Xiongan Expressway out of Beijing is closed. Vehicles out of Beijing will exit from Gongyizhuang, and the entrance ramp of Gongyizhuang out of Beijing is closed.
• • Due to heavy fog, the Beijing-Kaifeng Expressway is closed from Huanghua Bridge to the city boundary in both directions.
• • Due to heavy fog, the Beijing-Kaifeng Expressway is closed from Panggezhuang to the city boundary in both directions. Vehicles leaving Beijing should exit from Panggezhuang.
• • Due to the heavy rain, the two-way ramp to the north line of Daxing Airport Expressway has been closed.
• • Due to heavy fog, the entrance to the Jiawu toll station on the two-way section of the Daxing Airport North Line Expressway was closed.
