As per reports, an ash emission was recorded from the Puracé Volcano in the early hours of Monday (01 June). The emission produced an ash column approximately 800 meters high. The event occurred under a maintained yellow alert level issued by the Colombian Geological Service.
Ash dispersion has been detected in the surrounding areas of Puracé and Coconuco. Depending on wind direction, ash movement may extend toward Popayán, Timbío, and El Tambo. The yellow alert level indicates ongoing volcanic activity, including possible gas emissions, minor explosions, and seismic changes, but without indications of an imminent eruption.
