As per reports, the National Weather Services (NWS) has issued a winter storm watch for Saturday (06 January) afternoon through late Sunday (07 January) night for significant snowfall up to 12 inches in portions of Massachusetts.
Wind gusts could reach 40 mph which could lead to power outages.
• In portions of central and western Virginia, heavy snowfall conditions are likely to bring total snow accumulations in excess of five inches, and ice accumulations in excess of one-quarter of an inch between Friday (05 January) night through Saturday (06 January) evening.
• Total snow accumulations of six to ten 10 inches are likely in New Jersey, Sussex and in Pennsylvania including Carbon and Monroe between Saturday (06 January) and Sunday (07 January).
• The winter storm is forecast to impact Northern Baltimore County in Washington DC from Saturday (06 January) afternoon through late Sunday (07 January), wherein total snow accumulations up to five inches, and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch are possible.
• In Vermont, total snow accumulations of six to eight inches are possible in Rutland and Windsor Counties from Saturday (06 January) afternoon through late Sunday (07 January) night.
