As per reports, the National Service for Disaster Prevention and Response (Senapred) issued a preventive early alert on Sunday (28 April) for 10 communes in the Metropolitan Region due to the potential for thunderstorms and strong winds in the mountain range and pre-cordillera.
• The alert is based on the forecast from the Meteorological Directorate of Chile, which forecasts winds on Monday (29 April) and possible thunderstorms in the mountainous areas between Monday (29 April) and Tuesday (30 April).
• The communes affected by the alert include Hill, Lo Barnechea, Vitacura, The Counts, The Queen, Peñalolén, Florida, Puente Alto, Pirque, and San José de Maipo.
• This alert will remain in effect from Sunday (28 April) until the weather conditions no longer pose a threat.
