As per reports, GMB Scotland – a union representing waste workers has warned for strike action and that rubbish could pile up in streets across UK unless members receive an improved pay offer.

• GMB Scotland has secured mandates for strike action across Scotland. The strike action is expected to impact Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Fife, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, Aberdeenshire, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde, Midlothian, Orkney Islands and Perth and Kinross along with Sterling.
• The union has called on council representative body COSLA by Monday (08 July) to get back around the table for crunch talks and avert strike dates being proposed.
• Strike dates have not been announced yet.
