According to reports, the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee has scheduled a protest at the Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) complex on Thursday (20 February). The protest has been called against the provision of live-in relationships in the recently implemented Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

The party members will assemble near the Vidhan Sabha to collect public opinion on the issue and send it to the President through a memorandum. Eventually the party aims to make the movement a state-wide initiative to get maximum coverage on public opinion.
