As per reports, the Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) on Saturday morning (14 September) stated that Typhoon Bebinca is expected to near Japan’s southwestern island region of Amami by evening and warned of strong winds, landslides, flooding and high tides.
• The season’s 13th typhoon could also bring violent winds and rough seas to the country’s southern island prefecture of Okinawa.
• As of 0600 hours, the typhoon was located about 90 kilometers east of Minamidaito Island and was moving west-northwest at around 30 kilometers per hour with winds of up to 126 kph and an atmospheric pressure of 985 hectopascals at its center.
• It forecast winds of up to 162 kph in Amami and 126 kph in Okinawa on Saturday (14 September), with waves of up to 8 meters in Amami, 7 meters in the southern Kyushu region in the country’s southwest and 6 meters in Okinawa.
