As per reports, the following are the latest updates, as of Saturday (21 September), pertaining to the Sri Lankan Presidential Elections, scheduled for Saturday (21 September);

• The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has stated that the voting in 13,421 polling stations has concluded between 0700 (local time) to 1600 hours (local time) on Saturday (21 September). Currently, postal vote counting started at 1600 hours (local time) and normal vote counting began at 1800 hours (local time).
• President Wickremesinghe has instructed the heads of the security agencies to take all necessary steps to maintain law and order in the country without disrupting the daily lives of the people during the post-election period. As of Saturday (21 September), the election proceeded smoothly without any significant breaches of law and order across the 22 districts.
• Reportedly, over 200,000 officials had been deployed to conduct the election which will be guarded by 63,000 police. Early poll results are likely to be announced on Sunday (22 September).
