As per reports, the latest situational updates in Manipur, as of Wednesday (15 January), are as follows:

• On Tuesday (14 January), Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh held a meeting with senior officers of the Assam Rifles and mentioned the importance of an improved coordination amongst security forces, including the Army, Assam Rifles, Paramilitary Forces and state police.
• Further, while addressing a party programme in Imphal, he spoke about the voting of Indian National Congress (INC) MPs who were voted in the Lok Sabha elections in Manipur, stating that if there is no Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Central Government, Manipur will “break”. He also protested against the INC MPs, stating that the two have not spoken about border fencing, free movement regime and the identification of illegal immigrants.
