As per reports, lawyers across 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh have decided to block roads from 1200 to 1400 hours daily from Monday (11 November) onwards until their demands are met.
• The main demand is that a High Court bench be set up to hear the case regarding a dispute between a judge and a lawyer over bail, which eventually resulted in baton-charging by police on protesting lawyers on 29 October.
• Lawyers from 22 districts including Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Agra, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Saharanpur, Amroha, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Moradabad, Shamli, Baghpat, Bijnor will participate in this protest.
• As of now, the road-block protest will be indefinite until demands are met. Legal services pertaining to the Western UP Central Sangharsh Samiti will remain suspended during this time.
• Further details on the venue of the sit-in are awaited, but it is expected that it will be staged in front of the respective District Court.
