• Authorities in multiple municipalities have decided to extend closure orders for public parks, gardens, and cemeteries. In Calenzano, Campi Bisenzio, and Lastra a Signa, outdoor activities remain prohibited. In Marradi, Vaglia, and Vicchio, green areas and cemeteries will remain closed.
• In Barberino di Mugello, 27 individuals remain evacuated in the Bovecchio hamlet, with only a foot connection available. Authorities are monitoring their situation and ensuring access to basic necessities. Landslide removal operations on the access road are scheduled to begin next week. In Dicomano, 40 individuals remain isolated, while Marradi has 40 isolated individuals and 100 evacuees.
• Scattered rainfall has been observed in northern Tuscany and between Grosseto and lower Siena on Saturday (22 March). Forecasts indicate continued rainfall in provinces including Massa Carrara, Lucca, Pistoia, upper Livorno, and upper Pisa. Temporary relief from rainfall is expected in Lunigiana, Versilia, and Garfagnana, while showers and thunderstorms are likely to persist in other northwestern areas. River levels remain within safe limits.
• The Regional Civil Protection Operations Room reported no significant criticality on Saturday (22 March), However, preventive evacuations have been implemented for 91 individuals—70 in Marradi and 21 in Vaglia. Authorities are maintaining maximum vigilance, particularly in Alto Mugello and northwestern Tuscany, where risks of hydrogeological hazards remain.
• The orange alert for rain in Florence has been extended, affecting the hydrogeological and hydraulic risk on the minor network, particularly impacting secondary watercourses such as Ema, Mugnone, and Terzolle. Municipalities under the alert include Bagno a Ripoli, Fiesole, Greve in Chianti, Impruneta, Lastra a Signa, Pontassieve, San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Scandicci, and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
• Additionally, a yellow code warning for potential strong thunderstorms is in effect until 0000 hours (local time) on Sunday (23 March). Previous meteorological events have compromised infrastructure, increasing the risk of further landslides and embankment failures.
• The Municipal Operations Center (Coc) in Florence is actively monitoring the situation, coordinating with civil protection teams and volunteers for necessary interventions. In Bologna, the Emilia-Romagna Region has issued a yellow alert, leading to the opening of the Municipal Operations Center as a precautionary measure.
