As per reports, the funeral procession of Somonahalli Mallaiah Krishna will begin on Wednesday (11 December), and the latest details are as follows:
• The mortal remains will first be transported from his residence in Sadashiva Nagar, Bengaluru at 0800 hours proceeding through key locations for public viewing before culminating in Somanahalli, Maddur for the final rites scheduled at 1600 hours.
• The impacted locations for public viewing are:
A brief halt for last respects at Kengeri
Short stop for final darshan at Bidadi
Pausing for public tributes at Ramanagara and continuing towards Maddur from Channapatna onwards.
• Additionally, public tributes at Maddur will be performed from 1030 to 1500 hours, for those unable to attend the initial viewing procession.
• The state Deputy Chief Minister; DK Shivakumar have confirmed that the proceedings will adhere to full state honors, public arrangements have been in place in Bengaluru and Maddur to accommodate mourners and ensure accessibility during the mourning period.
• The Karnataka State government has also declared a three-day state mourning from Tuesday (10 December) to Thursday (12 December) leading to a temporary closure of schools, colleges and government offices, although private and public banks are expected to remain operational.
