As per reports, flooding and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have caused further casualties and extensive structural damage across Baglung District as of Wednesday (30 September).
The latest assessment by district authorities indicates that 61 houses and sheds have been washed away, while 51 houses have sustained partial damage.
• 12 people have died and one person remains missing following landslides in Tarakhola, Tamankhola and Nisikhola rural municipalities.
• Of the structures washed away, 51 were houses and 10 were sheds; significant damage has also been reported in Badigad, Kathekhola, Dhorpatan, Galkot and Baglung municipalities.
• In Nisikhola Rural Municipality-4, 20 mud-built houses and two concrete houses were completely destroyed, while 11 houses are reportedly at risk.
• Three suspension bridges and the ward office of Galkot Municipality-9 have been destroyed, while two police offices have sustained partial damage.
• Two hydropower projects, a school, a resort and an agricultural farm have also sustained damage.
• More than 250 solar panels supporting nearby tube wells were reportedly damaged, while a nearby grocery shop was destroyed in the affected area.
