As per reports, on the call given by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), farmers and activists staged a protest outside the venue in Bhatinda, on Sunday (24 March), where Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) president Sunil Jakhar was scheduled to attend ‘Booth Mahotsav’ event organised by party district president Sarup Chand Singla. Farmers and supporters from the groups Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan), BKU (Ekta Dakounda), Kirti Kisan Union and BKU (Krantikari) participated in the protest.

Further, as the farmers’ protest at Punjab-Haryana interstate borders entered its 40th day; farmer bodies Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha on Saturday (23 March) observed the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Shambhu and Khanauri borders.
