As per reports, following are the updates on the doctors’ protest in South Korea as on Thursday (27 June):

• Medical professors serving as senior doctors at three major hospitals of Yonsei University are set to launch an indefinite walkout on Thursday (27 June). The walkout is likely to continue until the standoff is resolved.
• Professors at Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital and Yongin Severance Hospital began suspending the treatment of outpatients, non-emergency surgeries and other services, except for the operation of emergency rooms and intensive care units.
• A total of 531 out of 735 professors voted in favor of striking. They stated that they would withdraw from the decision only if the government showed “visible efforts” to resolve the current medical crisis.
