Update on bomb threat reported at Palm Springs, California on Sunday (14 September)

As per reports, the Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) temporarily closed sections of the downtown area on Sunday (14 September), following a bomb threat.

• A man reportedly entered a local restaurant claiming there was a bomb in his car, which was parked at the intersection of La Plaza and South Palm Canyon Drive, with a suitcase positioned next to the vehicle.
• Authorities closed North Palm Canyon Drive from Tahquitz Canyon to Arenas Road and North Indian Canyon Drive from La Plaza to Belardo Road while investigating the threat.
• By 1635 hours local time (2335 hours UTC), police began reopening streets, the suspicious car was towed, and workers returned to restaurants in the area.
