As per reports, a strong cold front is expected to move across the Houston area on Tuesday (03 November), bringing thunderstorms from approximately 1200 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) to 1600 hours local time (2200 hours UTC). The weather conditions may affect people travelling to polling stations during the afternoon hours.
• Reports indicate that a broken line of thunderstorms is expected to reach the Houston area from 1200 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) to 1600 hours local time (2200 hours UTC). Significant storm activity is not anticipated before 1000 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) to 1100 hours local time (1700 hours UTC). Stronger storm cells may produce brief periods of heavy rainfall during the afternoon hours.
• A cold front moving through Southeast Texas is expected to increase the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms throughout Tuesday (03 November). Warm and humid conditions ahead of the front could contribute to the development of stronger thunderstorms, accompanied by gusty winds, heavy rainfall and lightning.
• Isolated rainfall and occasional heavier downpours are possible during the morning hours, while the main period of rainfall and thunderstorms is anticipated during the afternoon and evening as the cold front moves through the region. However, the precise timing and intensity of the storms remain uncertain.
• Potential weather-related hazards include gusty winds, frequent lightning, temporarily reduced visibility during heavy rainfall and water accumulation on roads. Although widespread severe weather is not currently anticipated, isolated stronger thunderstorms remain possible.
• Rainfall is not expected to persist throughout the entire day, and some areas may experience limited rainfall. Following the passage of the cold front, rainfall probabilities are expected to decrease, with cooler and drier conditions developing across Southeast Texas.
