As per reports, the following are the latest updates regarding the improvised explosive device (IED) blast that occurred on Friday (01 March) at Rameshwaram Cafe in Brookefield, near Whitefield:

• The photographs of the accused involved in the blast have been released. Both the accused identified in the case are associated with the ISIS module of Shivamogga and have been involved in a case before as well. The main accused was identified as Musavir Hussain Shajib, a resident of Thirthahalli in Shivamogga, and the other accused as Abdul Matheran Taha, hailing from Thirthahalli.
• The National Investigation Agency (NIA) traced their movements before the blast and found that both of them had stayed in a lodge in Triplicane, Chennai and returned to Chennai again after the blast. The last whereabouts of the accused were found in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, which shares its border with Tamil Nadu.
• Further it was found that the suspect had been staying at a lodging facility in Chennai for over a month after providing fake credentials, including an Aadhaar card and a driving licence. The suspect is alleged to have travelled to Bengaluru, via Tirupati, to plant an IED on Friday (29 February).
• The CCTV trail has found footage of the suspect travelling in public buses to get to the cafe and his arrival at the cafe with a cap, a mask, glasses to shield his eyes, wearing a full-sleeved shirt, a dark pair of pants, and sports sneakers. He entered the café at around 1135 hours and exited by 1145 hours on Friday (01 March).
