According to reports, following are the latest important developments regarding the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh, as of Sunday (25 August):

• Various organisations, including students’ groups, unions and political groups staged protests across several locations in Dhaka, including the High Court, Motsho Bhaban, Shahbagh, Science Lab, and Dhanmondi on Sunday (25 August) to press for various demands.
• The Bangladesh Ansar group suspended their protest following a meeting with Home Affairs Adviser Mohammed Jahangir Alam on Sunday (25 August) evening. Earlier in the day, Ansar group personnel had blockaded all five gates of the Dhaka Secretariat, demanding the nationalisation of their positions.
• Due to the Ansar protest, extensive traffic congestion occurred on the roads and alleys around Purana Paltan, Bijoy Nagar, Gulistan, and Segunbagicha. Traffic congestion eventually spread to the surrounding areas, causing further chokepoints in Banglamotor, Kawran Bazar, and Farmgate.
• Interim Government Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus commenced his address to the nation at 1930 hours of Sunday (25 August). He is expected to talk about a range of issues, including the ongoing protests.
