As per reports, the following are the latest updates on air pollution in Pakistan’s Punjab Province as of Monday (11 November):

• At least nine people have been killed and 26 injured in a series of traffic accidents across Pakistan, attributed to dense fog and smog, as of Sunday (10 November).
• The deadliest incident occurred in Thatta, Sindh, where four vehicles collided in low visibility conditions, resulting in six fatalities and twelve injuries. The victims were traveling in two poultry trucks, a car and a truck. In an incident in Bhakkar, a bus traveling from Multan to Rawalpindi collided with a trailer, causing two deaths and seven injuries. In another incident on the Silk Road in Abbottabad, three motorcyclists were struck by a truck, resulting in one death and two injuries. Multiple collisions have also been reported in Karoon Lal Eason, Layyah, due to reduced visibility, leaving five people injured.
• As of Monday (11 November), several highways have been shut by authorities due to low visibility. Authorities have closed the M1 Motorway from Charsadda to Akbar Pura, the M2 Motorway from Lahore to Kot Sarwar, the M3 Motorway from Samandari to Darkhana, and the M4 Motorway from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem, and the M5 Motorway from Shersha to Jhangra; the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway has been completely blocked.
• Multan was Pakistan’s most polluted city for the second consecutive day on Saturday (09 November), with the air quality index (AQI) reaching 1,914 in the early hours. Lahore remained the second most polluted on Saturday (09 November), with a peak AQI of 970.
