As per reports, the Tai Lam Tunnel in Hong Kong will remain closed from 0300 to 0500 hours on Saturday (31 May) for system transit as the government is set to take over the operation of the tunnel with reduced toll charges.

• The Transport Department confirmed that the government will assume control of the tunnel at 0000 hours on Saturday and new tolls will take effect immediately, with manual and Autotoll lanes operating for the first three hours.
• During the closure, the tunnel’s bus stop will be suspended impacting three overnight bus routes – Kowloon Motor Bus’s N269 running between Tin Tsz Estate and Mei Foo, N368 between Yuen Long West to Central and Long Win Bus’s NA43 between Fanling and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port.
• Detour routes: Yuen Long Highway and Tuen Mun Road. A temporary bus stop will be set up at the Tuen Mun Highway Bus Interchange.
