According to reports, the truck drivers staged a protest along the Dayala Chak-Dhar road in Kathua on Thursday (25 September). The protest was held to raise concerns regarding road closures by authorities.
The drivers raised demands for the movement of heavy vehicles along the road; moreover, they urged the authorities to ensure such restrictions on the highway rather than the local connecting roads in Kathua. The protest was called off after the authorities assured that heavy vehicles would be allowed to pass from 2030 hours to 2100 hours.
