Traffic diversions expected for a month at Palarivattom in Kochi starting Thursday (05 November)

Risk level: Low Country: India

As per reports, traffic restrictions will be implemented along the SN Junction–St. Martin’s Church corridor in Palarivattom, Kochi, from Thursday (05 November) to facilitate piling work for the Kochi Metro Phase 02 expansion.

• The restrictions are expected to remain in place for approximately one month. Preliminary preparations for the road closure are scheduled to begin on Wednesday (04 November), followed by a trial run of the revised traffic arrangements on Thursday (05 November).
• Under the revised arrangements, vehicles travelling from Edappally towards Kaloor will not be permitted to proceed directly along the stretch past St. Martin’s Church via SN Junction. Instead, commuters will have to turn left at SN Junction towards Palarivattom Junction, take a right turn and continue towards Kaloor.
• Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has requested commuters to cooperate with the temporary arrangements to facilitate construction work and minimise traffic delays.
