As per reports, the authorities in Vladivostok have begun installing temporary ‘No Entry’ road signs along the Sedanka-Patroclus Bypass Highway leading to Russky Island as part of preparations for the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2026. The restrictions are expected to only come into effect immediately before and during the forum.
• From 0700 hours local time (2100 hours UTC on 30 August) on 31 August until 0000 hours local time (1400 hours UTC on 07 September) on 08 September, heavy and oversized vehicles, as well as vehicles transporting dangerous goods without special permits, are expected to be prohibited from entering Russky Island. Parking along routes to the island is also expected to be prohibited during this period, except for vehicles with special passes.
• From 02 September until 0000 hours local time (1400 hours UTC on 05 September) on 06 September, vehicles transporting explosives, radioactive or toxic materials, weapons, ammunition, and detainees, along with vehicles exceeding 5 tones gross weight, is expected to be prohibited from travelling through designated EEF venues, guest routes, and other official travel corridors within the Vladivostok Urban District, unless authorized.
• The measures are being implemented to support security and traffic management during the Eastern Economic Forum 2026, which is expected to attract significant international participation.
