As per reports, the Kalimpong district administration in West Bengal issued an official notification announcing vehicular traffic restrictions along NH 10 between Sikkim and neighboring Siliguri in West Bengal from Thursday (09 May) for three days. The closure, scheduled from 0600 to 1800 hours, is to facilitate bituminous works by the PWD’s National Highway Division between Rabi Jhora and Gail Khola on the West Bengal side.

Accordingly, traffic from Rangpo in Sikkim to Siliguri in West Bengal will be redirected through two alternative routes:

• Via Munsong-17th Mile-Algarah-Lava-Gorubathan and vice versa.
• The other through Chitrey-Kalimpong town-Algarah-Lava-Gorubathan.
• Heavy goods carriers will use either the Chitrey or the Reshi-Pedong route to Siliguri and vice versa.
