As per reports, the Almeria City Council has announced a series of significant traffic disruptions and road closures across the city center from Monday (20 April) to 15 May due to urbanization and paving works related to the railway burial (soterramiento) project.

• The scheduled works are expected to last approximately one month, focusing on the integration of the high-speed railway network and the remodeling of urban spaces.
• Traffic is scheduled to be fully restricted on several key residential and commercial streets to allow for heavy machinery operations and the application of new road surfacing.
• Local authorities have indicated that access for residents to private garages may be maintained where possible, though temporary interruptions may occur during active paving phases.
• The city’s public transport network, including several municipal bus lines, is expected to undergo route diversions for the duration of the maintenance window.
• The affected areas include Calle Artés de Arcos, Calle Hermanos Machado, Carretera de Ronda, Avenida de la Estación, and the surrounding sectors of the Plaza de Barcelona, with key road corridors at risk including the N-340a and the AL-12 access route.
