As per reports, a traffic advisory has been issued for the Kanwar Yatra (annual pilgrimage of Lord Shiva’s devotees) on the National Highway-58 (NH-58) connecting Delhi to Haridwar and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway from 22 July to 04 August.
The advisory states the following:
• From 22 July, heavy vehicles will be banned from using NH-58 and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
• From 25 July, only light and medium light vehicles will be allowed on the left side of NH-58 from Delhi to Haridwar.
• From 29 July to 04 August, due to an increase in the kanwariyas (devotees), no vehicles will be allowed to ply on NH-58 and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway between Haridwar and Meerut.
• Local police across the route may implement traffic diversions as per situational requirement.
