Traffic advisory issued for Janmashtami celebrations at ISKCON Temple in Delhi till Saturday (05 September)

The Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for the Janmasthami celebration at the Iskcon temple and Ramlila Ground near Japanese Park on Friday (04 September). Heavy traffic is expected. Traffic diversions/restrictions will be in force from 0700 hours IST on Friday (04 September) till 0100 hours IST on Saturday (05 September).

Commercial vehicles will be diverted, while private vehicles may also be diverted as required. The general public is advised to avoid Bhagwan Mahavir Marg and adjoining roads and plan their journey accordingly. Commuters have been advised to avoid the Bhagwan Mahavir Marg from Madhuban Chowk till Heliport on both sides.

• Heavy and commercial vehicle movement will be restricted, which are going from Madhuban Chowk till Heliport on both sides.
• There is a likelihood that some roads like KNK Marg and Karala to Budh Vihar may remain affected.
• Diversions will be implemented as required at key junctions, including – police booth near Heliport for restricting vehicles entry, red light near sector 24 Rohini, Ganda Nala cut on KNK Marg, Pansali Chowk.
• Alternate route – Commuters should use UER-2, KNK Marg, Parhladpur Road and Karala Kanjhawala Road. They should account for additional travel time. Bhagwan Mahavir Marg will remain affected so all types of commuters are advised to change their routes accordingly.
• All emergency service vehicles will have unhindered passage on restricted roads during duties. However, they are advised to take bypass whenever possible for faster transit.
