As per reports, armed men seized an ATM containing INR 25 lakhs in north Delhi at around 0349 hours on Thursday (06 February). The bank’s control room received an alert signaling an issue with the ATM located in Wazirabad and upon receiving the notification, bank officials promptly alerted the authorities. Upon arrival, police found that the ATM had been forcibly removed from its kiosk.
The ATM’s security camera was disabled by spraying black paint on the lens. However, police sources mentioned that a fleeting glimpse of the suspects was captured before the camera was disabled. The accused tied the ATM to their vehicle with a heavy chain and used it to yank the machine free from its foundations, damaging it in the process.
