As per reports, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a series of awareness campaigns across Kerala concerning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. BJP leader V. Muraleedharan stated that the party would organise public outreach programmes to explain the voter-list revision process and counter allegations raised by the Indian National Congress regarding the exercise.
• According to Muraleedharan, large padayatras (foot marches) and youth-oriented programmes are planned in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kannur and Kozhikode districts by Friday (06 November). Additional campaign activities are expected across the state over the following month. The BJP has announced the campaign under the slogan of protecting democracy against anarchy.
• Specific venues, timings, routes and expected attendance for the announced marches have not been confirmed.
