Swell conditions expected from Faro Corona to Huasco and Juan Fernández from Sunday (26 July)

As per reports, the Chilean Navy’s Meteorological Service issued a swell warning for coastal areas from Faro Corona in the Los Lagos Region to Huasco in the Atacama Region, including the Juan Fernández Archipelago, Chile, from Sunday (26 July) to Tuesday (28 July).

• Reports indicate that west to southwest swells are expected to affect the Juan Fernández Archipelago from Sunday (26 July), Faro Corona to the Gulf of Arauco from the morning of Monday (27 July), and the Gulf of Arauco to Huasco from the afternoon of Monday (27 July). The swells may generate breaking waves in bays and coastal facilities exposed to the west and southwest.
• The highest wave intensity in the Juan Fernández Archipelago is expected between 0900 hours local time (1300 hours UTC) and 1000 hours local time (1400 hours UTC), and between 2100 hours local time (0100 hours UTC on the following day) and 2200 hours local time (0200 hours UTC on the following day), from Sunday (26 July).
• From Faro Corona to Huasco, the strongest conditions are expected between 0900 hours local time (1300 hours UTC) and 1100 hours local time (1500 hours UTC), and between 2100 hours local time (0100 hours UTC on the following day) and 2300 hours local time (0300 hours UTC on the following day), from Monday (27 July).
