As per reports, the Indian Gig Workers’ Front has opted to withdraw the cab strike set to commence on Tuesday (20 February) in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. This decision follows the issuance of a show-cause notice by the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) to cab companies such as Ola and Uber, prompted by numerous complaints from cab drivers. Further, a meeting with the Indian Gig Workers’ Front is scheduled to be held under the chairmanship of Pune District Collector on Wednesday (21 February), where drivers’ concerns will be discussed.

Following a review of the drivers’ grievances, Ola and Uber are expected to submit their written responses to the RTO Pune office within seven days. Failure to comply will result in appropriate action in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act and the Central Government’s Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines 2020.
